How the Hyundai
Entourage stacks up against the Dodge
Grand Caravan
by Nigel Cooper, Topanga CA
Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for
transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the
dealer. It costs roughly the same to get the Hyundai
Entourage to the dealership as the Dodge Grand Caravan.
Regarding gas mileage, the Dodge is a bit better than
the Hyundai
Entourage, but not by much. There frankly
isn't much of a difference in gas mileage here, but if
you must know, the Dodge Grand Caravan is a tad more
economical than the Hyundai
Entourage. When it comes to
MSRP, the Dodge Grand Caravan costs markedly less than
the Hyundai
Entourage.
Utility
The Dodge is a better choice than the Entourage
regarding hauling
capacity, especially if you often need
to carry a lot of luggage or sizeable beasts. Neither
the Hyundai
Entourage nor the Grand Caravan has a marked
advantage as far as seating capacity. The Dodge outpulls
the Hyundai
Entourage by a big margin.
Convenience
You likely won't have to visit your friendly gas
station more often with the Dodge Grand Caravan than
with the Hyundai, because both offer comparable mileage
ranges.
Comfort
Taller drivers will substantially enjoy the extra
head room in the Entourage's front cabin compared to the
Dodge. The Entourage offers more head- and leg-room to
your passengers than the Dodge Grand Caravan does.
Dimensions
The Dodge Grand Caravan's tank is about the same
size as the Entourage's, though the
Hyundai's is a
little bigger. The Entourage rides lower than the Dodge,
which is a good thing for its center of gravity and ease
of access. The Dodge Grand Caravan and the Hyundai
Entourage compete for the same parking spaces.
Performance
With respect to horsepower, the Hyundai Entourage
packs quite a punch and will knock the Dodge Grand
Caravan down a few rungs. However, note that high
horsepower engines often command higher insurance
premiums.
Handling
The Hyundai and the Dodge Grand Caravan have about
comparable tires. With their comparable turning
radiuses, the Dodge and the Hyundai Entourage
indubitably handle about the same into and out of tight
spots.
Drivetrain
The Hyundai has a more massive engine than the Grand
Caravan. Remember that smaller engines are often cheaper
to fix, but a smaller engine usually has to work a
little harder. Torque equals pickup, and the Hyundai
Entourage will have picked up and gone by the time the
Dodge Grand Caravan finally gets moving.
Overview
The basic warranty that comes with the Dodge Grand
Caravan isn't quite as generous as the Hyundai
Entourage's.

Western
Massachusetts
The beautiful, idyllic Pioneer
Valley of Western
Massachusetts used to be one of the world's best
kept secrets. But now, more and more companies are
choosing to expand here creating jobs, and increasing
opportunities for all. Simply telling the good news of
this region's lower costs and great quality of life to
the right corporate decision makers, is attracting
strong interest.
Western
Massachusetts in the Connecticut
River Valley. Bordered by West
Springfield on the south; Westfield,
Southampton,
and Easthampton
on the west; and separated from South
Hadley and Chicopee
by the Connecticut
River on the east. Holyoke
is 90 miles west of Boston;
34 miles north of Hartford,
Connecticut; and 142 miles from New
York City.
Massachusetts
is known as the Bay State because of the several large
bays that give its coastline its distinctive shape:
Massachusetts Bay and Cape Cod Bay on the state's east
coast, and Buzzards Bay to the south. A few cities and
towns on the Massachusetts–Rhode Island border are
also adjacent to Narragansett Bay. The name Massachusetts
comes from the name of an Algonquian tribe that means
"at or about the great hill" or "land of
the blue hills."
Massachusetts' Pioneer
Valley also contains a wealth of historical
attractions, including the Dickinson Homestead, where
American poetess Emily Dickinson wrote many of her
poems. Minute Man National Historical Park in Concord
preserves several sites that relate to the battles of
the American Revolution. The Berkshires
(or the Berkshire Hills) region in Western
Massachusetts is a favored resort destination with
several attractive villages and attractions such as the
Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge. Cape Cod,
Martha's Vineyard, and Nantucket are filled with many
classic seaside towns whose architecture has been
emulated worldwide.

Hyundai is located in Western
Massachusetts in Holyoke,
which is in Hampden
County. We are just minutes away from Route 91, 20
minutes outside of Springfield,
MA and under an hour from Hartford,
CT. Holyoke
is home to the Holyoke Mall at Ingleside, one of the
biggest shopping malls in New
England.
Holyoke also
contains the Log Cabin Banquet and Meeting House, which
has won numerous awards and recognitions and is claimed
to be one of the top banquet facilities in New
England.
On February 9, 1895, William G. Morgan invented
volleyball at a YMCA in Holyoke.
It is also sometimes claimed that basketball shares
volleyball's Holyoke
origins, but, nonetheless, the credit goes to
neighboring Springfield.
Holyoke is
also the home of the second largest St. Patrick's Day
parade in the United States. Held annually on the Sunday
following St. Patrick's Day, the parade draws thousands
of people from across the region and nation.
Massachusetts
is the most populous of the New
England states of the Northeast
United States. It is bordered by New
York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Connecticut.
Western
Massachusetts boasts an in-depth culture with a
beautiful backdrop of all its natural resources. The
grandeur of nature and the harmony of the music at
Tanglewood provide the perfect recipe that will feed
your soul.
In addition to the Boston
Symphony Orchestra at Tanglewood, Western
Massachusetts is home to the Clark Art Institute,
the Norman Rockwell Museum, Yankee Candle Company, Six
Flags of New
England, The Big E, the Naismith Memorial Basketball
Hall of Fame, the Volleyball Hall of Fame, and the Dr.
Seuss National Memorial Sculpture Garden.
With all the activities that rugged Western
Massachusetts has to offer you will truly enjoy your
surroundings. Activities include boating, fishing,
kayaking, hunting, biking, canoeing, golfing, and
skiing.
